Jennifer K. Dixon

Jennifer K. Dixon is a partner at the Remington & Dixon Law Firm that is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in both journalism/mass communications and political science and received her bachelor’s degree in 2007. Ms. Dixon then pursued her legal education at Elon University School of Law, and in 2010, she was awarded her Juris Doctor. She has been with her current firm since December 2011.

Ms. Dixon handles a variety of legal matters for her clients in Mecklenburg County and its surrounding areas. Her primary focus is on family law matters, and she provides advice and counsel to people whose marriages are ending. The primary grounds for divorce in the state is a separation that has lasted for at least one year, and most of her clients fall into that category. Ms. Dixon helps them deal with spousal and child support, child custody and visitation, and the division of their marital assets and debts. She often takes the lead in negotiating a comprehensive settlement agreement, but she has extensive courtroom experience that she puts to use on their behalf when litigation proves to be necessary.

Ms. Dixon has an estate planning practice as well, and she prepares and reviews the types of documents that meet her clients’ objectives and needs, including wills, financial and health care powers of attorney, and advance medical directives. She also assists clients who have received traffic tickets, and in many cases, she has been able to get the citations reduced to nonmoving violations that have little or no effect on their auto insurance premiums. A recipient of an “Excellent” peer-review rating through Avvo, Ms. Dixon has been admitted to practice in North Carolina since 2010.
