Liz Vennum

A partner at Hull & Chandler, P.A., Liz Vennum focuses her practice on business litigation and transactional counsel, representing startups, founders and growth-stage companies. Her work centers on complex, multiparty contract disputes, trade secret litigation and the enforcement or defense of restrictive covenants, handling these matters before both state and federal courts.

Ms. Vennum built her legal career on a foundation of academic and professional rigor. She earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University before completing her legal education at Wake Forest University School of Law. Before joining Hull & Chandler, P.A., she was the founder and principal of her own practice, which merged into Hull & Chandler, P.A., in September 2021.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Vennum worked as an associate at a Charlotte-area law firm, served as a legal outreach coordinator for the Campaign for Southern Equality, clerked at a private attorney's office and interned with the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office – experiences that shaped both her advocacy skills and her commitment to accessible legal service.

Ms. Vennum has built a strong record of results for her clients. She has defended businesses and individuals against allegations of trade secret misappropriation and restrictive covenant violations, securing dismissals and favorable settlements. She has also represented shareholders seeking to enforce their corporate rights and has guided both buyers and sellers of businesses through contract, fraud and unfair trade practice disputes, including trying a noncompete and breach of contract case to a successful judgment that included both damages and attorney's fees.

Beyond her caseload, Ms. Vennum remains deeply engaged with the legal community. She has served on the Education Committee of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, helping coordinate its annual conference and was selected in 2019 for the Mecklenburg County Bar's Bar Leadership Institute. She is also an active member of Women Entrepreneurs of South Charlotte and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).
