Nicole Heiden Sodoma is a dedicated, experienced and compassionate lawyer who practices in the areas of Family Law and Assisted Reproductive Technology. Nicole Sodoma believes that it’s her role to educate clients on their various legal options and allow them to feel more in control of their cases. Ms. Sodoma attended the College of Charleston and the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. Ms. Sodoma is also a certified parenting coordinator, certified collaborative law attorney and a nationally certified literacy tutor. Ms. Sodoma is very involved in the Mecklenburg County Domestic Court Bar Committee. This committee works together to make changes to the 26th Judicial District Family Local Rules, taking a direct role in scheduling matters and other issues that directly involve family law. She has spoken on specific topics related to family law and nationally on issues related to assisted reproductive technology, and assists with many nonprofit organizations nationally, regionally, and in her community.

She is also an active board member for Justice Initiatives, a non-profit organization formed in 2004 by a group of civic leaders, lawyers, business owners and concerned citizens in North Carolina who strive for a healthy court system and an efficient administration of justice.

  • Ms. Sodoma frequently organizes, participates in, and speaks at live seminars on the topics of child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence.  She annually assists with many national, state-wide and local not-for-profit organizations. These have included programs and career days offered to Charlotte-Mecklenburg School students through the North Carolina State Bar, Junior Achievement, Hands On Charlotte, Department of Social Services, and Joshua’s Farm.   In 2014, Ms. Sodoma established the Sodoma Law Foundation.  The Foundation supports organizations addressing issues to which the firm is deeply committed: those that improve the well-being of children regionally and nationally, and those that support the charitable endeavors of Mecklenburg County’s legal community.
