Lee Robertson Jr. is a managing partner of Robertson & Associates, a boutique commercial, construction, and real estate litigation law firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr. Robertson manages the firm’s robust litigation practice, successfully and aggressively representing businesses and individuals throughout the Charlotte-metropolitan area and across North Carolina. Mr. Robertson has tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict, and since 2012, has recovered more than $75,000,000 for his clients.
Mr. Robertson primarily represents contractors, subcontractors, and owners in construction disputes over workmanship and payment. Mr. Robertson also represents and defends hundreds of businesses and nonprofit organizations in all manner of transactions and disputes related to formation and governance, employment, policy development, contracts, and real estate. Mr. Robertson also represents real estate agents, plumbers, electricians, and other licensed professionals before their respective licensing boards. Mr. Robertson’s firm handles a variety of non-litigation matters for its clients, including commercial real estate transactions, entity formation, estate planning, and estate administration.
Mr. Robertson is regarded as an expert in North Carolina lien law, and regularly provides continuing education seminars and training to other lawyers about the application of North Carolina’s technical lien statutes. Mr. Robertson completed his B.A. at North Carolina State University and earned his J.D. at the Charlotte School of Law. Mr. Robertson was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2012 and is licensed to practice before all North Carolina courts and the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of North Carolina, as well as the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Professionally, Mr. Robertson is very engaged with the Mecklenburg County Bar, the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation, and the North Carolina Bar Association. Mr. Robertson is also highly involved in his community and serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of numerous local nonprofit organizations. Mr. Robertson has chaired several committees for both the Mecklenburg County Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association. Currently, Mr. Robertson chairs the North Carolina Bar Association’s Communications Committee and sits on the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Grievance Committee and Mecklenburg Bar Foundations’ Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Robertson chaired the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Leadership Institute, which provides intensive leadership training and development to emerging lawyers, chaired the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Social & Networking Committee, and served as a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Board of Directors. Mr. Robertson has served as a member of the Keith Family YMCA Board of Managers for ten years and chaired the Board of Directors of RAIN for the past two years.
Mr. Robertson has been named a Business North Carolina Magazine’s “Legal Elite” and a “SuperLawyer” for multiple years. In 2022, Mr. Robertson was recognized as the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney. Mr. Robertson was named “2021 Person of the Year” by QNotes Magazine.
