Steven Allen Bimbo

One of the partners at the Charlotte, North Carolina-based law firm Smith Terry & Windle, Steven Allen Bimbo is an attorney solely focusing his practice on construction law and litigation. He assists those who are involved in a construction project from subcontractors to owners and developers, and represents his clients in several matters, including:

• Licensing 
• Bid preparation
• Bid mistakes
• Defense of claims
• Preparation of contract documents
• Termination
• Dispute resolution through mediation, negotiation and arbitration 

Mr. Bimbo has immense knowledge of creditors’ rights and several state and federal consumer protection laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He actively represents creditors and debt collection agencies against any allegations involving these laws. 

From North Carolina State University, Mr. Bimbo received his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2004. He graduated magna cum laude from the Charlotte School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2009. At the university, he was an active member of the Order of the Crown, a leadership society. 

Upon receiving his license to practice law in North Carolina in 2009, Mr. Bimbo started litigating cases and representing his clients in several courts throughout the state. Combining his passion for commercial development with his deep understanding of technical and legal complexities involved in a project, he acts as a representative for his clients in a wide array of construction sectors such as hazardous waste collection, heavy-highway, and manufacturing and residential buildings. 

Business North Carolina magazine named Mr. Bimbo as a Legal Elite in 2017 and 2018 and was included in their Young Guns list consecutively for three years for his excellent work in the field of construction law. He is rated “Excellent” on Avvo. 

Mr. Bimbo currently serves on the Board of Directors at the North Carolina Locksmith Licensing Board and is the vice chair of the supplier division at Carolinas AGC, Inc. He is a member of various other professional organizations as well, such as the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the North Carolina Bar Association.
