Jason M. Sneed launched SNEED PLLC in Davidson, North Carolina in 2011 to offer clients sophisticated intellectual property services, particularly trademark and trade dress protection, enforcement and litigation, at a reasonable price. Previously Mr. Sneed spent 14 years in practice in national firms in Charlotte and Kansas City, most recently as Partner and Group Leader for the Charlotte Trademark & Copyright Group of Alston & Bird. SNEED PLLC counsels and represents clients in the areas of trademark, trade dress, copyright, Internet and domain name, unfair competition and trade secrets in the United States and internationally, and handles intellectual property litigation in the U.S. federal courts and in contested trademark proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. The firm now has lawyers in several major Southeastern U.S. jurisdictions.
The scope of Mr. Sneed’s practice covers trademark and trade dress issues regarding likelihood of consumer confusion, dilution, counterfeiting, and the registration and cancellation of trademarks; domain name litigation and arbitration; copyright issues regarding registration and infringement of architectural plans and works, fabric designs and literary works; patent litigation in industries such as industrial tools and consumer goods; the licensing of intellectual property rights; and unfair and deceptive trade practices and unfair competition.
Mr. Sneed has been active in leadership in the International Trademark Association and he regularly writes and speaks on intellectual property matters, including presentations such as: “Brand Enforcement Basics,” International Trademark Basics Forum, INTA, December 2007; “Brand Enforcement,” INTA Branding Forum, September 2007; “Advanced TTAB Practice and Procedure,” INTA Roundtable Discussion, July 2007; “Hot Topics in Trademark Law: Fraud According to the TTAB,” INTA 2007 Annual Meeting; “Preparing for Litigation: The Trademark Administrator’s Role” and “Cease & Desist Letter Workshop,” INTA Trademark Administrators’ Conference, September 2006; and “The Sword and Shield of Copyright Law: What Architects Should Know,” AIA Annual Convention, May 2005.
During 2006-2010 Mr. Sneed was honored to serve as Chairman of the Greater Charlotte Chapter of The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy, and he currently serves on the chapter’s Steering Committee. He enjoys coaching youth athletics in his free time.
