John Covington Overfield

John Covington Overfield is a distinguished attorney at Coltrane & Overfield PLLC based in North Carolina, concentrating in real estate law, business law, and family law. Mr. Overfield earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1995. During his time at law school, he was an active member of the Moot Court Board and was the recipient of the Moot Court Board Award. He also served as the Chairperson for the Edwin M. Stanley Moot Court Competition. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, graduating cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1991, followed by a Master of Business Administration in 1992.

Mr. Overfield’s commitment to the legal community is demonstrated through his leadership roles in various professional associations. He has served as the president of the Young Lawyers Section of the Greensboro Bar Association, and has held chairperson positions in the North Carolina Bar Association, including the Answering the Call Committee, the Pre Law Counseling Committee, and as a board member of the Real Property Council.

In his practice, Mr. Overfield focuses on ensuring comprehensive legal support for his clients across North Carolina. In 1995, Mr. Overfield was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar. He is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of North Carolina.
