Joseph Z. Frost

Joseph Z. Frost is a board-certified specialist in business and consumer bankruptcy law by the North Carolina State Bar. Serving as a partner with the Buckmiller, Boyette & Frost, PLLC, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, he has more than a decade of experience in the field of law practice. He regularly works with businesses, farmers and other individuals in seeking relief under the provisions of bankruptcy filing under Chapters 7, 12, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. His practice area includes business and complex litigation, consumer bankruptcy, consumer protection litigation, tax and agriculture. 

Mr. Frost also represents his clients, from creditors and creditor committees to trustees, in a wide range of bankruptcy-related issues. He advises them on all aspects of bankruptcy – prosecution and defense of adversary proceedings and other matters of business and commercial litigation, consumer protection, tax disputes and agricultural law.

Born and raised in Camden, South Carolina, Mr. Frost graduated magna cum laude from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from the Campbell University –   Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he also was an articles editor for the Campbell Law Review. He has gained admissions to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina and the U.S. Tax Court.

In the initial phase of his career, Mr. Frost has been a judicial clerk to the Honorable Judges J. Rich Leonard, Stephani W. Humrickhouse and A. Thomas Small at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Rated “Excellent” on Avvo, he also holds memberships in various legal organizations such as the:
