Kyle Smalling

Committed to serving the people of North Carolina, attorney Kyle Smalling is the CEO and co-founder of the law firm Capital City Law and a native of Boone. Projecting his work ethic into his interaction with his clients, he serves them on cases and legal matters related to corporate compliance, intellectual property, land development, real estate and business law. The firm has branches across North Carolina in Raleigh, Greensboro and Wake Forest.

Graduating from North Carolina State University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and biomolecular concentration, Mr. Smalling worked as a chemical engineer and later as a marketing manager. In 2011, he decided to pursue his education in law and enrolled in the Campbell University – Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, from where he graduated with his doctorate in jurisprudence in 2014.

During his college days, Mr. Smalling served as a clerk at private firms and got licensed to practice law in North Carolina, soon after graduation. During his clerkship, he got exposure to various fields of law, helping in litigating cases from federal crimes to civil trials and resolving other legal matters involving contract disputes, business formation, licensing and certification. He is also licensed to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina.

Owning Capital City Law within a year, Mr. Smalling takes it upon himself to promote a healthy environment at his workplace for his clients to feel welcome and taken care of. Mr. Smalling stays connected with the legal community by maintaining memberships in prominent legal associations including the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, the Federal Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorneys and the North Carolina Association of Realtors. He extends his services to his community by volunteering as a legal counsel for various nonprofits and legal associations.
