Susan L. Goetcheus

Certified by the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization for her immense knowledge in the family law arena, Susan L. Goetcheus is an attorney at the Raleigh-based firm Sandlin Family Law Group in North Carolina. She devotes her time to taking on cases involving divorce, alimony, prenuptial agreements, child custody and visitation, adoptions, and property settlements. 

With a major in philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University, Ms. Goetcheus received her bachelor’s degree in 1989. After almost a decade and a half, she joined the North Carolina Central University School of Law and graduated cum laude earning her Juris Doctor in 2006. She gained experience during her university days by interning under the Honorable Martha A. Geer and by serving as a constitutional law research assistant. 

Ms. Goetcheus’ previous clients describe her as a punctual and zealous attorney and for the same holds a rating of “Superb” on Avvo. She understands divorce or fighting for a child’s custody can be very exhausting and exhilarating and makes sure to promptly return their phone calls and offers her relentless support to them. A member of the Volunteer Lawyers Program since 2006, Ms. Goetcheus actively participates in various services to give back to the community. She is a volunteer at The Child’s Advocate, an organization established with the mission to provide legal assistance to children involved in highly contentious custody cases. She is also a member of various other legal associations, including the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association.
