Mark R. Melrose

With a legal career spanning over three decades in western North Carolina, attorney Mark R. Melrose is the owner of Melrose Law, PLLC - Personal Injury Attorneys, located in Waynesville, North Carolina. He has been dedicated to advocating for clients in state and federal courts, primarily focusing on cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death.

In addition, Mr. Melrose is adept at handling cases related to general civil litigation, estate litigation and appellate proceedings. After gaining admission to the North Carolina State Bar in 1990, Mr. Melrose has been admitted to practice law in all tiers of the North Carolina court system, including arguing before the Supreme Court of North Carolina. Additionally, he has successfully litigated cases within the federal court system and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and has prepared legal briefs for submission to the United States Supreme Court.

Additionally, he was honored with the pro bono award twice in the 30th Judicial District, in 1992 and 1998, and led the district's pro bono committee. Over the years, he has dedicated his time to volunteer work for the North Carolina mock trial competitions for high school students.

Mr. Melrose possesses numerous accolades in his professional career and has been a frequent speaker at continuing education workshops across North Carolina. He is also a proficient author. Moreover, he has been rated distinguished through Martindale-Hubbell and holds a "Superb" rating on Avvo.

After completing his bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, in 1985, Mr. Melrose graduated summa cum laude. Following this accomplishment, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill in 1989.
