Amanda B. Mason

A partner at Mason, Mason, and Smith Attorneys at Law, Amanda B. Mason focuses her practice primarily on criminal defense and family law matters. From the firm's offices in Wilmington, North Carolina, she provides advice and counsel to clients throughout New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties. Ms. Mason has been admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts since 2003.

Ms. Mason's family law caseload primarily consists of her representation of people whose marriages are coming to an end and who are thus having to deal with such divorce-related issues as the division of complex assets and debts, spousal and child support, and child custody and visitation. She is a forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, but she also has experience in helping them reach an accord on these matters through a negotiated settlement. Ms. Mason also assists clients whose marriages have already been legally dissolved and who are now seeking the enforcement of or modifications to existing support and parenting court orders.

In her criminal defense practice, Ms. Mason helps people who have been charged by the state with having committed misdemeanor or felony offenses. The types of cases that she has worked on have included weapons violations, drug possession and trafficking, driving under the influence of alcohol, and domestic violence. Ms. Mason has been able to obtain favorable results for her clients through dismissals, acquittals and the negotiation of favorable plea agreements with the prosecution. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
