William Gray Smith

William Gray Smith is a junior partner at Mason, Mason, and Smith Attorneys at Law. He provides a compassionate ear and offers logical, realistic solutions to those who need it most. He helps families and those accused of criminal charges navigate complex legal situations. Mr. Smith assists clients in the Wilmington, North Carolina, area with:

• Criminal cases involving DUI/DWI, traffic violations, license suspension and revocation, sex offender registry removal, professional employment defense and more
• Family law issues regarding divorce, child custody and support, equitable distribution, domestic violence and restraining orders

A native of Robersonville, North Carolina, Mr. Smith completed his bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College in 2014. While there, he was on the dean’s list and was a part of the college football team and played an active role in the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. In 2017, he obtained his legal degree from the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.

Mr. Smith is licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina since 2017. For his high professionalism and extraordinary trial advocacy skills, he earned his membership in The Order of the Barristers honor society. He has a successful track record both inside and outside the courtroom.

Earlier in his legal career, Mr. Smith spent several months as a legal intern at a few courts and other organizations. He served as an intern for Justice Paul Newby at the Supreme Court of North Carolina and at the North Carolina Department of Justice.
