Doug Maynard, Jr., is founder of the Law Offices of C. Douglas Maynard, Jr., formerly Maynard & Harris Attorneys at Law, PLLC, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mr. Maynard practices personal injury, workers' compensation, and insurance law. For the past 30 years he has represented clients throughout North Carolina.

Mr. Maynard has extensive experience with matters involving automobile, bicycle, commercial vehicle, construction site, delivery truck, dog bite, electrocution, motorcycle, pedestrian and tractor-trailer injuries, as well as all other types of catastrophic personal injury claims. He also takes on cases involving bad faith insurance claims, insurance carrier failure to settle claims involving excess judgments, life insurance beneficiary disputes, dram shop / liquor liability, life insurance denials, uninsured or underinsured motorist claims, unfair trade practices, workers’ compensation, wrongful death and general insurance coverage disputes. He does not represent insurance companies. He is frequently associated by out of State attorneys to assist with North Carolina injury claims.  In state and out of state attorneys frequently associate Mr. Maynard to assist with complex insurance coverage matters.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Maynard has attained millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients. He has been a licensed attorney since 1992 and is admitted before all North Carolina state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of North Carolina and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has earned an AV Preeminent* peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Maynard lectures at various seminars on insurance law topics and serves as editor of a North Carolina legal treatise on uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. He has also published numerous articles on these topics for seminars, magazines and newsletters.

Mr. Maynard received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and earned his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. He is a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association (past president), the North Carolina Bar Association (past chair of the Litigation Section), North Carolina Advocates for Justice (President's Club), the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and has served in leadership positions for the organizations over the years. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association.
