Attorney Karen D. Gerber is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Federal and State Criminal Law based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ms. Gerber is a partner and founder of Gerber, Green & Principe, PLLC, and handles all aspects of criminal defense in State and Federal Courts, serving clients in Winston-Salem, the Greensboro and High Point areas and throughout North Carolina.

Ms. Gerber has over 20 years of experience and has always focused her practice on criminal defense law. Over the course of her career, she has successfully resolved thousands of cases involving drug charges, conspiracies, DUI/DWI, sexual assault, white-collar crimes, murder and other misdemeanors and felonies.

Active in professional organizations and her greater community, Ms. Gerber has served as president (2019) and vice president (2018) of the Forsyth County Criminal Defense and Trial Lawyers Association, Executive Committee Member of the Forsyth County Bar and has sat on the board of directors of Professional Women of Winston-Salem.  She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the 21st Judicial District Bar and the Forsyth County Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers Association. She often volunteers with events within her community.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Ms. Gerber earned her law degree from Wake Forest School of Law. She holds licenses to practice law before all North Carolina state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

Prior to founding her law firm, then Gerber, Green & Principe, Ms. Gerber spent eight years serving as a public defender. This experience allowed her to develop her criminal defense knowledge, skill and experience, which she puts to use defending her current clients.
