After graduating from the University of North Dakota in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, Mr. Brand attended the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 2012. While in law school, he served as a member of the University of North Dakota Law Review, and he was refounder of the Environmental Law Society as well as Moot Court Competition. He also received the Lillian Elsinga Outstanding Student Leader Award and the Memorial Union Leadership Scholarship.

Mr. Brand is admitted to practice before all North Dakota and Minnesota state courts as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota. He is also an active member of the North Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Cass County Inns of Court, among his other professional affiliations.
