Donald J. Malarcik

Donald J. Malarcik is an attorney at Malarcik, Pierce, Munyer & Will, Attorneys at Law, in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Malarcik concentrates his practice on State and federal criminal defense cases, serving clients in Northeast Ohio and beyond. Don has served as lead counsel on over 150 felony jury trials. 

An accomplished litigator with over 30 years of experience, Mr. Malarcik has been trial counsel on over 20 capital murder cases in State and Federal Court. Don has never had a client sentenced to death. He has served as "Learned Counsel" on Federal Death Penalty cases in New York City, Nashville, Detroit, Harrisburg, PA and Dayton, Ohio. 

A graduate of the renowned Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, WY, in 2001, Don has served as a member of the Faculty since 2006. Don is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Akron School of Law, where he teaches Trial Advocacy.

Don is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Criminal Lawyers. He was awarded the "Lifesavers Award" by the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2021 for outstanding work in Capital Murder Cases. He appears regularly on CourtTV as a commentator and guest.

Mr. Malarcik earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. While attending law school, he gained practical legal experience by interning with the Supreme Court of Ohio.
