John C. Weisensell, a partner at Weisensel & Corgan, LLC is a skilled and astute advocate for his clients in Akron, Ohio, throughout the Cleveland metropolitan area and across the state. Focusing his practice on civil litigation at both the trial and appellate level, he handles business and commercial disputes, personal injury cases and medical malpractice matters.
A native of Cleveland, Mr. Weisensell attended The College of Wooster and received his B.A. in history in 1981. He then went on to pursue his legal education at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1985. Certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, Mr. Weisensell is admitted to practice in Ohio and Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Highly regarded by his fellow professionals, Mr. Weisensell has received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and he is often asked to give presentations to fellow attorneys on civil trial techniques and legal ethics.
Dedicated to his profession, Mr. Weisensell actively participates in numerous legal organizations. A member of the Ohio State Bar Association, he is a past president, and a former member of the board of trustees of the Akron Bar Association. He is also a Fellow of the Akron Bar Foundation, as well as a member of the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Association for Justice, the Akron Bar Foundation, and the Summit County Association for Justice.
