Philip J. Truax is the founder of Truax Law Group, Ltd, in Avon, Ohio, where he focuses on delivering practical, results-driven legal counsel to construction professionals and business owners throughout Ohio. He established the firm with a clear purpose: to provide legal guidance that reflects a deep understanding of the construction industry while remaining grounded in responsiveness, efficiency and genuine concern for client success.

For more than two decades, Mr. Truax has advised contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, developers and business owners on managing risk, resolving disputes and protecting the enterprises they have worked hard to build. His practice spans all phases of construction and commercial matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, claims counseling, litigation, arbitration, and strategic business planning. Clients value his ability to anticipate challenges and provide solutions that are both legally sound and commercially practical.

Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Truax gained firsthand experience in the construction field, working as a laborer and foreman on large commercial projects. That background, combined with growing up in a construction-oriented household, gives him uncommon insight into jobsite realities and industry pressures. This perspective allows him to bridge the gap between legal theory and real-world application, offering counsel that aligns with how construction businesses actually operate.

Mr. Truax represents general contractors, specialty trade contractors, material suppliers, owners and developers in both public and private sector projects. He also advises small and midsized companies in manufacturing, professional services and other industries on commercial disputes and long-term legal strategy.

Under his leadership, Truax Law Group, Ltd, earned recognition in the 2024 Chambers USA Spotlight Guide as the only small-to-midsized construction law firm in Ohio to receive that distinction. He is licensed to practice in Ohio and Kentucky, and earned his J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
