Joshua E. O'Farrell

A partner at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC, attorney Joshua E. O'Farrell focuses his practice on energy and natural resources issues, business litigation, personal injury, real estate, construction law and civil litigation matters. He serves as the head of the firm’s Oil and Gas Practice Group.

A highly experienced and tenacious litigator, Mr. O'Farrell represents landowners throughout Ohio in oil and gas lease negotiations, pipeline right-of-way agreement negotiations and mineral sale transactions. He has successfully argued two issues before the Ohio Supreme Court and has sued on behalf of several individuals and businesses in Ohio courts on important matters.

Mr. O'Farrell is proud of his meticulousness and his capacity to articulate his client's position in motion practice and briefing in a way that is both concise and convincing. Always ready to take on any task on his clients' behalf, he knows that preparation is key to success. He strives to establish relationships based on honesty and open communication. He gets to know his clients on a personal level to better address their unique legal needs, provide proactive advice and see them through to successful resolutions. 

After completing his B.A. at the University of Notre Dame in 2004, Mr. O'Farrell secured a doctorate in law from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2010. He was authorized to practice in Ohio the same year.

Honoring Mr. O'Farrell’s professionalism and accomplishments, The Best Lawyers of America included them their 2024 list of attorneys. He was also recognized by the Ohio Farm Bureau Online Pipeline Easements Issue as a leading attorney in the oil & gas industry. He holds active memberships in the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Association for Justice, the Stark County Bar Association and the Ohio Farm Bureau. He is also the former president of the Tuscarawas County Bar Association.
