After finishing his Bachelor of Arts with a major in economics from Denison University, Mr. Goering went on to study at the Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Earning his law degree in 1992, he passed the bar the following year and was admitted to practice in Ohio and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He was also appointed as a Chapter 7 Trustee for the Southern District of Ohio in 2003. 

As a skilled counsel for trustees and debtors, Mr. Goering handles around 100 cases in a month. He also shares his knowledge with fellow attorneys and legal students by engaging in various seminars and lectures on topics related to Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy issues. Renowned for his knowledge of the law and achievements in the legal field, he holds an “Excellent” rating on Avvo and has been peer-review rated as AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Goering is a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Judicial Liaison Committee as well as the Bankruptcy Local Rules Committee. His pro bono activities include being a volunteer attorney in the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Project.
