Since starting the law firm of James F. Bogen, Attorney at Law, over two decades ago, Mr. Bogen has garnered the adulation of his peers for his unwavering work ethic and determination to help his clients through all the challenges and hurdles of their cases. His client-centric approach and meticulous attention to detail help even the playing field when defending clients against the state and the federal government. He has also held many continuing legal education seminars and classes to help keep his legal community updated on new, innovative and creative strategies, as well as recent developments within the judiciary they operate in.
Mr. Bogen completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati in 1998 and simultaneously earned his Master of Science degree from his alma mater a year later. He went on to attend the University of Cincinnati College of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2002, as well as his license to practice law in Ohio. Moreover, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Within his legal community, Mr. Bogen holds memberships in many prominent legal organizations, including the Ohio State Bar Association and the Warren County Bar Association. Within the Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA), he is a member of the Professionalism Committee, the Health and Well Being Committee and the Lawyer Referral Service Board Advisory Committee (former chair). In addition, he completed the CBA’s Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers program.

- I completed the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL) Program through the Cincinnati Bar Association in my first year of eligibility I currently serve on three committees for the Cincinnati Bar Association. I have been the Vice-Chair of the Health and Well-Being Committee and I currently the CLE Coordinator for that committee, I served as the Chair for the Lawyer Referral Service Board Advisory Committee, and I am a member of the Professionalism Committee. While serving as Chair for the Lawyer Referral Service Board Advisory Committee, I initiated an overhaul of the qualification requirements for incoming LRS panel attorneys (stricter requirements for them to be able to take LRS referrals for more serious or difficult cases). I have also been a regular speaker at the Cincinnati Bar Association on the topic of physical fitness, and he has had articles published on that topic in the CBA Report.

- I am certified in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (the field tests for DUI), and I am also certified by the Ohio Supreme Court to represent indigent defendants in death penalty cases as trial co-counsel.
