John L. Heilbrun

Attorney John L. Heilbrun is the founder of The Law Office of John Heilbrun in Cincinnati/Hamilton County, Ohio. John’s practice focuses solely on family law related issues. He has more than 35 years of experience serving Ohio residents in matters involving Collaborative Process Dissolution, Dissolution/Divorce, Division of Assets and Liabilities, Spousal Support and Allocation of Parental Rights and Responsibilities in Dissolution and Divorce cases.

John has substantial experience in Collaborative Process Divorce, as well as other Dissolution Processes and Divorce/litigation cases. The Collaborative Process is a process used by married couples who have decided to end their marriage, and who wish to avoid the time, expense, distress and damage that often results when the spouses whose marriage is ending, decide to have the issues that need to be resolved when a marriage is ending decided by litigation and adversarial court proceedings. Over the course of his career, John has helped his clients resolve thousands of complex divorce and family law proceedings, and he has developed strong relationships with Ohio’s legal community.

Understanding that the ending of a marriage, and all the issues that arise when a marriage is ending, are often emotionally challenging, John provides compassionate, strong and knowledgeable representation. He always strives toward reaching the best possible outcome for his clients, allowing them to move forward with their life and make a fresh start.

John is active in the family law legal community, and he is a member of the family law sections of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association, and is an active and long time member of both the Cincinnati Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Mr. John graduated from Walnut Hills High School, received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He obtained his license to practice law in 1977, and he is qualified to appear and practice before all Ohio state and federal courts.
