Richard J. Goldberg

Richard J. Goldberg is a criminal defense attorney with Schuh & Goldberg in Cincinnati, Ohio, handling matters in federal, state and local courts. His practice focuses on defending individuals charged with a range of offenses and he represents clients at trial, on appeal and in federal proceedings throughout the region.

Mr. Goldberg began his legal career after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati and earning his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 1975. Admitted to the Ohio State Bar that same year, he also gained admission to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in 1975, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit in 1981 and the United States Supreme Court in 1989. Since first entering practice in 1975, he has maintained a steady litigation presence across criminal dockets and appellate calendars.

Active in the professional community, Mr. Goldberg holds memberships in the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Greater Cincinnati Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. He has served as president and as a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and he frequently participates as a speaker at criminal law seminars for judges and practitioners. Currently, he serves on the Grievance Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association.
