Terence R. Coates

Attorney Terence R. Coates is a managing partner with the Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC, law firm, which has office locations in Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio. Widely regarded as one of the area's leading young attorneys, Mr. Coates has more than 10 years of legal experience, and he strives to provide the highest level of counsel and support possible to his plaintiff clients throughout the state and across the country who have legal needs involving any of the following:

A 2005 graduate of Wittenberg University, Mr. Coates obtained his Juris Doctor in 2009 from Western Michigan University's Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While there, he was a member of the school's Moot Court board and served with the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Along with practicing before all of Ohio's state courts, Mr. Coates is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

Early in his career, Mr. Coates worked at a leading national law firm, where he served as the firm's administrator and gained invaluable experience handling plaintiff litigation matters. He then joined Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC, in 2013 and has since proven himself an outstanding member to the firm's team, serving as lead or co-counsel on a number of high-stakes, high-profile trials and class actions against some of the country's largest corporations, energy companies and mortgage providers as well as the NCAA.

Recognized for his success, Mr. Coates received Wittenberg University's Outstanding Young Alumnus Award in 2014 and the Young Lawyers Section Professionalism Award from the Cincinnati Bar Association in 2015. He has also earned many top ratings from his peers along with numerous positive reviews and testimonials from his satisfied clients.

Active in his legal community, Mr. Coates is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Potter Stewart American Inn of Court. He also supports his local community by volunteering with various civic and charitable organizations in his area.
