Attorney Andrew R. Young is a partner at Young & McCarthy in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Young focuses his practice on personal injury and truck accident cases, serving clients throughout Ohio and on a national level.

Mr. Young has more than a decade of litigation experience and has recovered massive settlements and verdicts for trucking accident victims. He is an experienced truck driver, and his knowledge regarding truck driving and passion about trucking safety provides him with unique skills in terms of representing individuals injured in trucking accidents. He has authored numerous articles on trucking safety and testified on the topic in front of the Ohio Transportation and Public Safety Committee.

Mr. Young has been recognized for his efforts to encourage trucking safety. In 2016, he received the “above and beyond” award from the American Association for Justice’s trucking litigation group. He has also received honors from organizations, including the Lorain County Bar Association, the Ohio Association for Justice and has attained an AV Preeminent* rating from the peer review organization Martindale-Hubbell. 

An active member of the trucking litigation group of the American Association for Justice, Mr. Young also belongs to the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association as well as several other local and national professional legal organizations. He has served in a number of roles in these groups throughout his career.

Mr. Young earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating magna cum laude. He went on to obtain his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in Ohio since 1999.

Verdicts and Settlements:

  • Andy was lead counsel in a disputed liability underride truck collision case with a net $42.4 Million Dollar Compensatory Verdict.  Andy's client's portion of the verdict was $34.6 Million for a substantial traumatic brain injury.  The co-plaintiff's portion was $7.8 Million for a moderate brain injury.
