At Rutter & Russin, LLC, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bobby Rutter has established himself as one of the nation’s most distinguished trial attorneys. With two decades of experience, he zealously represents policyholders in disputes involving bad-faith insurance claims, coverage controversies and losses caused by natural disasters, vandalism, theft and business-related incidents.
Mr. Rutter earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 2002 and obtained his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law in 2005. He is licensed in Ohio and Illinois and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
Before joining Rutter & Russin, LLC, full time, Mr. Rutter spent years on the “dark side,” defending insurance companies against their policyholders. This unique vantage point gives him unparalleled insight into industry tactics and equips him to anticipate opposing strategies, making his advocacy both proactive and highly effective.
As a committed champion for policyholders’ rights, Mr. Rutter has secured substantial verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients facing unjust claim denials or undervaluation. His strategic approach combines deep legal knowledge, meticulous investigation and persuasive courtroom advocacy to maximize recoveries and hold insurers accountable.
Mr. Rutter’s professionalism and dedication have earned him consistent recognition from The Best Lawyers in America, along with accolades from peers and glowing testimonials from grateful clients. He takes pride in guiding individuals and businesses through challenging times and restoring their peace of mind.
Active in the legal community, Mr. Rutter is a former chair of the Ohio Association for Justice’s insurance committee and served as a trustee.
