    Attorney Profile

As a principal and managing member of Jerome, Grauer and Associates Ltd., Joseph B. Jerome devotes his practice to assisting businesses and individuals in the State of Ohio and in other states (on a limited basis) with a range of legal matters primarily involving construction, litigation, arbitration and mediation, real estate, commercial business/transactional law and environmental issues. Additionally, he oftentimes serves his business clients as outside general counsel in a variety of matters. Mr. Jerome has a practice which combines providing advocate services in litigation and arbitration matters coupled with his experience as a transactional attorney -- sort of "one stop shopping" rather than requiring multiple attorneys being involved in a single matter to handle the variety of issues which may be raised in a matter.  Further, he is widely known today for his skills at mediating disputes and avoiding protracted litigation, serving the American Arbitration Association, the Northern District of Ohio, Common Pleas Courts (under special assignments) and also as a party-selected private mediator.

Mr. Jerome earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University in 1972 and his Juris Doctor, cum laude,  from the Cleveland–Marshall College of Law in 1975. He has been admitted to practice law before all the state courts of Ohio and the United States Supreme Court in 2006, the U.S. Tax Court in 1975, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 1976 and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in 1977.  Mr. Jerome has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice in other states of the Union.

Mr. Jerome has maintained, for over 30 years, the highest rating possible of AV Preeminent* through the peer review firm Martindale-Hubbell.

AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. • Litigation Checklist  It is our firm's experience (and a matter of practical necessity) that, as early as possible in respect to litigation matters, we learn as much as we can in regards to the nature of litigation in which you are involved, whether we serve in defense of a matter and/or are asserting a claim on your behalf. Accordingly, to best assist and represent you, we have prepared this Guide which (while admittedly relatively generic in nature) sets forth certain essential elements in respect to most litigation matters. Should we believe there is a necessity to further expand upon our comments, we may include a supplement to this Guide outlining our further thoughts and comments. Please take the time to utilize the document as a checklist, providing that which we have requested as soon as possible. In turn we will review what you have prepared and determine what, if any, additional information we will require to proceed effectively and efficiently in regards to the litigation or prospective litigation in which you are a party., Litigation Checklist , Business Litigants
