Joshua Payne

Josh earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude with honors in his concentration on Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Josh has long had a passion for trial work and oral advocacy and in addition to his extensive coursework, he developed his litigation skills as a member of the Jonathan M. Ault Mock Trial Team during law school. Based on his performance, Josh was one of just several Case Western Reserve University students named to The Order of the Barristers, a highly selective honor society that recognizes the top advocates from law schools around the country who have demonstrated exceptional skill in trial advocacy, oral advocacy, and brief writing.

Josh first started working at Nurenberg Paris in 2016 while he was still an undergraduate student at The College of Wooster where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. It was these years working at Nurenberg Paris that reaffirmed Josh’s desire to be a litigator and attend law school. Josh returned to the firm as a law clerk during his third year of law school, helping to prepare cases for litigation and trial before joining the team as an associate in 2021.

Loyal and hardworking, Josh is passionate about getting the best results for his clients. His attention to detail and focus drives him to dig deeper, to find the facts that others may have missed that can help win a case. Josh has participated in the resolutions of wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases which recovered millions of dollars for clients.

With an insatiable appetite for knowledge, Josh embarked on a transformative journey to enhance his legal representation. Recognizing the importance of advocating for both truck drivers and individuals affected by collisions involving commercial vehicles, he devoted several months to rigorous training. During the weekends, he diligently participated in classroom sessions and hands-on driving experiences, fully immersing himself in the intricacies of the trucking world. In 2022, Josh achieved a significant milestone by obtaining his Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), allowing him to comprehend the complexities of truck cases and empathize with the drivers.

Further exemplifying his commitment to professional growth, Josh secured his Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) 30-Hour Certification while maintaining his demanding role as an attorney. This multifaceted dedication showcases his unyielding determination to comprehensively serve his clients’ interests.

When not working, Josh enjoys going to car shows and baseball games as well as spending time outdoors, hiking, and camping with his wife and their dog Monty.
