Benjamin Luftman

As a founding partner with the Luftman, Heck & Associates LLP law firm in Columbus, Ohio, Benjamin Luftman focuses his practice on criminal defense, OVI and DUI defense and defending against other types of traffic violations. As an attorney, Mr. Luftman believes that all people deserve the best legal representation possible regardless of their situations, and throughout his decades of practicing law, he has helped hundreds of clients fight for their rights and secure their freedom.

An Ohio native, Mr. Luftman attended The Ohio State University, where he received his undergraduate degree in history in 2000. He then attended Capital University Law School and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2003. The Ohio State Bar Association admitted him to practice that same year, and he can also legally practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

In addition to being active in the Ohio State Bar Association, Mr. Luftman is also active in the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Columbus Bar Association, among others. Moreover, he is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the procedures that law enforcement officers use to conduct roadside sobriety tests, and he routinely lectures throughout central Ohio on matters related to OVI/DUI law and the proper use of Breathalyzers and field sobriety tests.

An accomplished author, Mr. Luftman has published numerous articles pertaining to OVI/DUI law and criminal defense, as well as authoring or co-authoring chapters for books that DUI defense attorneys across the county use to prepare their DUI cases. In recognition for his service and professionalism, Mr. Luftman has received numerous awards and honors, including an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell.

When he is not practicing law, Mr. Luftman volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Recently, Mr. Luftman opened an office in Dublin, Ohio.
