Christopher E. Heckert

Christopher E. Heckert is one of the managing partners at the Columbus, Ohio, law firm of Heckert & Moreland Co. LPA. For more than two decades, he has advocated for the rights of families facing legal issues as well as individuals accused of criminal charges. Clients in Columbus and across central Ohio rely on his services in a variety of matters, including:

Majoring in political science and government, Mr. Heckert completed his B.A. at The University of Alabama in 1995. He received his J.D. from the Capital University Law School in 1999. Early in his career, he served as an assistant attorney at the Franklin County Public Defender's Office, where he defended needy individuals facing criminal charges. He is licensed to practice in the state of Ohio (2000) and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

A tireless advocate, Mr. Heckert knows the hardships that come with a family dispute or criminal accusation. In addition to providing dedicated representation, he offers sincere compassion and empathy to each client he serves. His experience as a prosecutor enables him to deftly handle the most complicated cases. He also mediates several cases and frequently functions as a parenting coordinator in Franklin and Delaware counties. Furthermore, he has tried a number of death cases to completion and is death penalty certified.

A lifetime member of the prestigious National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), Mr. Heckert also holds active memberships in the Central Ohio Association of Juvenile Lawyers, the American Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association’s Family Law Committee.
