Douglas J. Segerman

Douglas J. Segerman is a seasoned trial lawyer and a shareholder at Luper Neidenthal & Logan, where he has practiced since 2019. Douglas has practiced as a litigator since 1995.  Based in Columbus, Ohio, he has built a robust legal career focusing on complex business and construction litigation involving disputes in excess of $100,000, noncompete agreements and creditor’s rights. His litigation acumen extends to civil trial work related to complex litigation on large and significant disputes, particularly involving bankruptcy, sophisticated general business and large construction disputes. Covering the metropolitan areas of Columbus, Toledo and Dayton, as well as every county in Ohio, he handles cases related to non-complete agreements, shareholder disputes, and large construction projects in excess of $100,000; and advises on general business practices and disputes.

Mr. Segerman earned his undergraduate degree in accounting, cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. His academic achievements also include passing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and being an associate member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Leveraging his accounting knowledge with almost three decades of legal experience, he offers his business clients invaluable insights regarding the litigation process and the best avenues toward achieving their strategic objectives in the most effective and efficient manner.

Admitted to practice in Ohio since 1995, Mr. Segerman has since gained admission to several federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio, as well as the Supreme Court of Ohio. He is actively involved in professional associations such as the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association, reflecting his commitment to the legal profession and continuous learning.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Segerman is deeply committed to his community. He has served as board member of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue, is a past chair of the Bexley Education Foundation and is the current chair of the FJMC Foundation for Jewish Life (an international organization).
