Eric W. Johnson

Eric W. Johnson is partner at Sowald Sowald Anderson Hawley & Johnson, and represents clients in central Ohio and Columbus, Ohio. A family law and appeals attorney, he manages cases related to custody and divorce. In Family Relations law, he is currently a certified specialist by the Ohio State Bar Association. For over two decades, he has represented families and individuals as they work through what are often emotionally distressing times.

Admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, he is also licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Mr. Johnson attended Michigan State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics in 1990. He then moved on to law school and earned a Juris Doctor in 1995 from the University of Akron School of Law.

A recent chair of the Family Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association, Mr. Johnson is also a member of the Columbus Bar Association, Delaware County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and Mensa International. He served eight years on the board of editors for the Ohio Lawyer Magazine and is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International.

Mr. Johnson also has experience in general practice fields, insurance subrogation, personal injury, and workers’ compensation. A fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation, he worked to provide legal services to low income veterans with Operation Legal Help Ohio. In the Ohio Legislature, he regularly testifies before subcommittees regarding bills affecting Ohio families.
