James S. Savage is a trial lawyer in Columbus, Ohio.  He has represented business and construction clients in Central Ohio for three decades, and has served as local counsel for out of state law firms whose clients are in litigation here.  Mr. Savage also represents physicians in credentialing and business disputes and works as a mediator to help parties resolve disputes.

He has tried numerous cases in federal and state court and to arbitration panels.  He is one of a handful of trial lawyers in Central Ohio recognized by his peers and local judges as a Super Lawyer (commercial and construction litigation), for inclusion in the publication “Best Lawyers in America”* (commercial litigation), and to receive the highest rating of AV Preeminent from the peer review service Martindale-Hubbell**. Mr. Savage is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar advocates forum, which is limited to advocates who have achieved jury verdicts of over $2 million.  He has achieved multi-million jury verdicts in commercial and construction wrongful death cases.

Mr. Savage had his own boutique litigation firm in downtown Columbus for 25 years. He recently moved his practice to the Columbus law firm of Luper, Neidenthal & Logan to better serve his clients.  The Luper firm provides him with cutting-edge technology and the staff and lawyer support necessary to ensure the highest level of service to his clients.

Mr. Savage prides himself on being a lawyer that solves rather than create problems.  His job is to help the client achieve its objective in the quickest and most cost-effective manner.  That may require resort to the judicial system or involve the use of mediation or arbitration or some other “outside the box” solution.  In each case, the goal is always the same – resolve the dispute in the client’s favor in the quickest, cheapest, and most efficient manner.

Mr. Savage grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio, graduated from Duke University, magna cum laude, and Washington University – St. Louis law school.  He manages his family’s certified sustainable tree farm in Southern Ohio and serves on the Board of Directors of National Church Residences, the largest provider of affordable housing for seniors in the United States, most recently as Chairman.
