John H. Cousins IV

John H. Cousins IV is the owner of Cousins Family Law LLC, located in Columbus, Ohio, where he offers comprehensive legal representation across a broad range of practice areas, including family law and appeals, divorce, child custody, corporate and business matters, criminal law, general practice and litigation. With a client-focused approach, he is committed to guiding individuals and businesses through complex legal issues with clarity, diligence and strategic insight.

Drawing on a strong foundation in both trial and appellate work, Mr. Cousins brings a well-rounded perspective to his practice. His experience spans multiple areas of law, allowing him to effectively advocate for clients in both contentious and collaborative legal matters. He is known for his analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to navigate challenging legal situations with professionalism and care.

Mr. Cousins received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Ohio University in 2005. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 2008, where he distinguished himself academically and in advocacy. During law school, he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and received the 2007 Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy. He was also inducted into the Order of Barristers National Honors Society and earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for achieving the highest grade in Trial Advocacy.

Admitted to practice law in Ohio since 2008, Mr. Cousins began his legal career in the judiciary. He served as a judicial attorney for Judge Lisa L. Sadler of the 10th District Court of Appeals for the State of Ohio from 2011 to 2013, and later as a judicial attorney for Justice Judith L. French of the Supreme Court of Ohio from 2013 to 2015. An active member of the legal community, he is affiliated with the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association.
