Madeline J. Rettig

Madeline J. Rettig is an associate at Marshall and Forman LLC in Columbus, Ohio. She focuses her practice on civil rights violations, employment and labor, discrimination, malicious prosecution, police misconduct, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination and so on. 

With a genuine concern for her clients, Ms. Rettig provides dedicated legal services with an unwavering commitment to their needs. She handles each case with the sensitivity it deserves and is a zealous and tireless advocate for her clients and their rights and liberties. Ms. Rettig understands the psychological impact these cases can have on her clients, and she empathetically fights for them. 

Ms. Rettig is a member of the American Constitution Society, the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. With a special focus on constitutional law matters, she endeavors to bring about social justice through the legal system. Ms. Rettig actively engages in giving back to her community and has worked in a nonprofit establishment that aims at providing rehabilitative services to individuals in prison.  

Graduating magna cum laude, Ms. Rettig has a Bachelor of Arts degree and also a certificate in law, justice and culture. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. 

In law school, Ms. Rettig was the recipient of the Labor and Employment Academic Achievement Award and earned the designation of Public Service Fellow for finishing more than 100 hours of pro bono work. She was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Employee Benefits and the Civil Law Clinic and was the chief articles editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. 

Before joining the firm, Ms. Rettig was a judicial extern for a renowned judge in the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Having helped people who were wrongfully convicted, on death row and individuals with low income facing the criminal justice system, she served in the public sector for a while. She has received a “Very Good” rating on Avvo for her notable legal services.
