Originally hailing from New Knoxville, Ohio, Mr. Kruse pursued higher education at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 2001. During his university tenure, he was an actively involved member of the student government and his fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau. After completing his undergraduate studies, he relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where he obtained his J.D. from the DePaul College of Law in 2004.
During his time in law school, Mr. Kruse completed a year-long internship with the Chicago Housing Authority and functioned as a law clerk for a labor and employment law firm in Chicago. Following his graduation, he was immediately hired as an attorney by the same firm, where he remained until 2007. While there, he was an integral part of various trial teams that successfully defended the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation against medical malpractice suits and the city of Chicago in high-profile malicious prosecution cases.
In 2007, Mr. Kruse transitioned to another law firm in Lisle, Illinois, where he successfully defended various insurance companies and other business entities. Upon returning to his home state of Ohio in 2010, he became a staff attorney for the Greene County Common Pleas Court. In 2011, he joined a boutique law firm in Beavercreek, Ohio, where he established himself as a successful practitioner in domestic relations, juvenile and family law. Continuing his upward trajectory, he joined Kirkland & Sommers, Co., L.P.A., in 2016, where he has since thrived.
Mr. Kruse, a respected figure in the family law arena, proudly participates in the local and state legal communities. He previously chaired the Montgomery County Bar Association's Domestic Relations Committee and now holds the position of President of the Greene County Bar Association. Furthermore, he currently sits on the Ohio State Bar Association's Family Law committee, showcasing his commitment to excellence in the field.
