Brian A. Sommers

Brian Sommers is a very well known figure in family law in Ohio. His experience is finely honed through years of dedicated practice. As a founding partner at Kirkland & Sommers, Co., L.P.A., he exclusively practices in the area divorce and family law.

From tumultuous custody battles to amicable dissolutions, Mr. Sommers adeptly handles an extensive spectrum of issues including divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, post-decree modifications, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs), military divorce, marital agreements and domestic violence matters.  Mr. Sommers has handled many cases dealing with business evaluations and complex marital estates.

Mr. Sommers completed his bachelor’s degree at Indiana State University in 1989 followed by his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Dayton School of Law in 2000. Soon after, he was admitted to practice law in Ohio. He is a prestigious fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a member of the Dayton Bar Association and Ohio State Bar Association – Family Law Committee.
