John R. Folkerth, Jr.

John R. Folkerth, Jr., is an attorney at Folkerth + Routh LLC in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Folkerth focuses his practice on employment law and manages the firm’s labor and employment law group. He handles matters involving leave programs, sexual harassment, wrongful termination and other employment-related legal issues. He also handles litigation and business law matters. Over the course of his career, Mr. Folkerth has appeared before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Ohio Court of Claims, the Ohio Unemployment Compensation Review Commission, the Department of Labor, the Disciplinary Appeals Board, the Equal Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board and the Office of Special Counsel.

Born and raised in Dayton, Mr. Folkerth earned bachelor’s degrees in history and philosophy from Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. He holds an active license to practice law before all Ohio state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
