Mr. Gounaris is a member of the Dayton Bar Association, where he once served as chair of its Congeniality Committee, and the Federal Bar Association, where he served as president from 2004 to 2006. Verdicts/Settlements (Case Results):
  • State of Ohio v. Dora Olvera, Montgomery County Case Number 2004-CR-2178Ms Olvera was charged with possession of four kilos of cocaine facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 13 years in prison. At the conclusion of the trial the jury found Ms. Olvera not guilty of all charges
  • Cikraji v. Vickers et. al.  United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Plaintiff, Cikraji, brought a civil action against a number of defendants including my clients. Judge Rice incorporated Magistrate Judge Ovington's Report and Recommendation to dismiss the complaint after responsive pleadings were filed
  • Featherweight boxer Michael Evan was removed from the United States Boxing Team without just cause and without due process. After filing of a petition for an emergency hearing with the American Arbitration Association, a hearing was scheduled in Atlanta for the immediate reinstatement of Mr. Evans. After pleadings and motions were filed a hearing was held and the result was the reinstatement of Mr. Evans to the US Boxing team in time to participate in the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York
