Ajmeri Hoque

The founder of her eponymous law firm, Ajmeri Hoque focuses her practice exclusively on criminal defense matters. She is located in Columbus, Ohio, and she has another office in neighboring Powell. Providing representation to people throughout the greater metropolitan area, Ms. Hoque is fluent in both Bengali and English, which allows her to communicate better with many of her clients.

Ms. Hoque furnishes aggressive and effective advocacy on behalf of her clients who have been accused by the state of Ohio with having committed felony or misdemeanor offenses. The types of charges that she has defended against have included sex crimes, traffic violations, drug possession and distribution, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Ms. Hoque has been able to obtain positive results both in and out of the courtroom, through plea agreements that she has negotiated with prosecutors as well as acquittals and dismissals at the trial level. Ms. Hoque has been admitted to practice before all Ohio state courts since 2010, and she is also admitted to practice in New York. As an undergraduate, she attended The Ohio State University, where she majored in political science and earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2006. Ms. Hoque then remained in Columbus for her legal education and enrolled at Capital University Law School. While she was there, she served several externships before being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2010. One of her experiences prior to opening her own firm in July 2019 involved her service as an assistant prosecutor in Lancaster, Ohio.
