Representing clients in the greater metropolitan area and throughout the state, she focuses her practice on corporate matters, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property. Ms. Rector attended Wake Forest University as an undergraduate, where she majored in economics and received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in 1981. She then enrolled at the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, and in 1984, she graduated with her Juris Doctor.

A significant portion of Ms. Rector’s practice consists of advising her clients on how best to protect their brands. She has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2002, and she has also received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an “Excellent” peer review rating through Avvo. Ms. Rector is a member of several professional organizations, including the International Trademark Association and the Columbus Bar Foundation. She also serves on the board of directors of a bank holding company and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
