- Dewitt v blah blah blah settled for $235,000. In January 2019 in Milton Township, Ohio Mr Dewitt was traveling on SR 235 when Mr. Drost failed to yield at a stop sign and struck Mr. Dewitt in the middle of the interesction. Mr. Dewitt was taken by ambulance to Wood County Hospital from the scene of the accident. He suffered a left bicep tendon rupture and a concussion. Due to Mr. Dewitt's injuries he has experienced a loss in grip strength which effects his current employment at a plastic fabricating plant, 2019
- Meyer v Mobile Care EMS & Transport, Inc., et al. settled for $210,000 in June 2019. In January 2018, Ms. Meyer an elderly woman was being transported by a mobile care van. Driver came upon stopped traffic and stopped suddenly. Ms. Meyer went flying forward in the van because she was not secured properly. She broke both of her ankles and her bone below her left knee. She was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio by EMS, 2019
- Clunk v Hanah Hassan settled for $100,000. In November 2018 Mr. Clunk was blowing leaves outside of his home in Sylvania, Ohio which is located in a residential neighborhood. Ms. Hassan was speeding and came around the corner when she struck Mr. Clunk sending him into the air, striking the windshielf of her vehicle and landing on the pavement. Mr. Clunk was transported via EMA to Flower Hospital for his injuries. Mr. Clunk's major injuries included his face, teeth, left arm, left shoulder, neck, back and both knees, 2019
- Hager v Drop Ship, LLC, et al settled for $325,000. On June 19, 2017, Richard Hager was on his way home from work at Diamond Manufacturing, where he worked as a press operator. Because Richard was planning to make a stop at the post office in Cairo, Ohio to check his mail, he was driving westbound on Lincoln Highway. As he crossed the intersection with Stewart Road, a box truck driven by Steven Love for Drop Ship, LLC slammed into the driver’s side door of Richard’s GMC Yukon. A witness who was traveling behind the box truck saw Mr. Love run the stop sign at that intersection and strike Mr. Hager’s SUV, spinning it around. Richard was knocked unconscious on impact. When he regained consciousness, the witness – who happened to be a registered nurse – was beside him yelling for a belt. Someone gave her a belt, and the nurse used it to apply a tourniquet to Mr. Hager’s left arm, which was bleeding heavily. Mr. Hager was trapped in the SUV, with his left leg immobilized under the steering wheel. Richard still becomes tearful when he recalls that when he was trapped in that car, he grabbed a photo of his young son. Bleeding heavily, his left arm nearly amputated, Richard tried to focus on his son as he passed out of consciousness. He kept passing in and out of consciousness as the ambulance came and told him they needed to cut the top of his car off to get him out. He remembers being covered with a coat as they cut into the metal of his SUV and then passed in and out of consciousness until he was at the emergency room. It took approximately 8-12 minutes to extract Mr. Hager from his SUV, and he was discovered to have a left arm laceration with severe, uncontrolled bleeding and visible bone. Major injuries include near amputation of left arm requiring two surgeries, 2019
- Michael E. Keller v Jetta C Fraser settled for $300,000. Mr. Keller who is a local barber for the last 45 years was hit at a major intersection in Toledo, Ohio while riding is 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was left with broken pelvis, broken wrist and life altering back issues. He had three surgeries to fix his injuries and return him to his new normal. He is now back to work and adjusting to life after injuries as a barber, 2019
- Foos v Kline settled for $250,000 April 2019. Mrs. Foos was hit by Ms. Kline in Wood County, Ohio in April 2018. Her car was totaled and she was transferred by ambulance to Wood County Hospital and then life-flighted to Toledo Hospital with a broken neck and broken ribs, 2019
- Cohen v O'Connor settled for $250,000. Mrs. Cohen was a teacher who hit O'Conner, when O'Conner made an illegal left turn and pulled out in front of Cohen. Cohen suffered multiple broken bones including both wrists, her tibia and fibula, her right shoulder and three ribs. She underwent surgeries for both wrists to have plates and screws placed, 2019
- Bohannon v Metalguard Inc. settlement of $360,000. Derriss fell through the roof of a building he was working on when he answered a job advertisement and caused him to hit his head and fracture his arm and back. He never received safety training from the employer and was told the harness he was given was "just for show.", 2019
- Morgan v Shidler settlement of $137,000. Jennifer Morgan and son Gregory Morgan were rear ended on route 64, were hospitalized and needed corrective surgical procedures, 2018
- Mowery v Zastrow recovered a settlement of $250,000. Brittany Mowery was legally drunk and hit Zastrow when he pulled out in front of her and made an illegal left turn. She was hospitalized and suffered and had several surgeries including an ankle fusion. Our client pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. We were the third attorney on the case. - Odneal v Johnson reached a policy limit settlement of $300,000. Gail Odneal was an elderly pedestrian that was hit in the crosswalk at Barnes and Noble, 2018
- Ellie Claire White was a 3 year old who suffered a dog bite to the face from her Aunt's dog. Home Owner's insurance accepted liability and policy limited settlement to $300,000, 2018
- Fries v. Zoeller Demolition and Construction. $400,000 settlement against Tim Zoeller for a fall from an improperly set up ladder at construction site, 2018
- $1.25 million settlement for the Estate of Diana Shively. Diana was a passenger in her husband's vehicle and died when the defendant crossed the center line and struck their vehicle, 2018
- Paul Jeffrey Upman v. John Doe settled for $950,000. Mr. Upman was walking along a bridge in Toledo, OH when a John Doe lost control of his vehicle and struck Mr. Upman and caused him to fall 35 feet off a bridge causing him to suffer multiple fractures in his shoulder blades, knee, spine and skull. He suffered eight pelvic fractures, bleeding on the brain, a ruptured spleen and a traumatic brain injury. He spent 75 days in the hospital and underwent eight surgeries, including a permanent shunt to drain fluid from his brain, 2017
- McPherson v Healthcare Ventures of Ohio, LLC, et al., settled for $290,000. Mr. McPherson was recovering from a full shoulder replacement at Heatherdowns Nursing Home. He repeatedly told and reported to the staff, that there were issues with the wheels and brakes of his recovery room bed. After weeks of reporting the issues, his bed rolled and he fell off the bed onto his recovering shoulder causing a complete tear in his tendon. Had to have a repeat surgery and another 6 months of rehabilitation, 2017
- Speelman v Weber settled for $400,000. Ms. Speelman was a 79 woman who was hit by a driver who ran a red light in Toledo, OH. She suffered a brain bleed, liver laceration, collapsed lung, broken ankle and toe, and was on life support for a few days. She finally recovered in therapy after several months, 2017

- I started the Bikes for Kids program in 2008. It is an ongoing program for the last 11 years. It is a 10 week program where each week we pick one kid from the Toledo Public School system who is overdeserving and underprivileged. We take them to our local bicycle shop, let the kids pick out their own individual bike and get fitted for a helmet. Many of the students we choose do not receive gifts from their family members and also sometimes the bicycle is their only means of transportation, other than the public transportation system, 2019
- Boyk Law Coat & Boot Drive - In 2019, I started an annual Winter Coat and Boot Drive where all of the donated items were directly given to the Salvation Army of Lima to benefit the children and families of Allen County, Ohio, 2019
