Jonathan A. Bartell

Enriched with over two decades of experience, Jonathan A. Bartell is a well-established attorney in the field of immigration law. The founder and partner at Bartell, Georgalas & Juarez, L.P.A. Co., he has offices in Cleveland, Columbus, and Oxford. He represents people in matters of immigration nationwide, along with defense against crimes of assault, DUI/DWI and sex crimes throughout the state of Ohio. He also litigates expungement cases for those who seek a clean sheet.   Mr. Bartell is an alumnus of the Ithaca College, from where he graduated with his bachelor’s in 1993. Before joining the Case Western Reserve University School of Law for his law studies in 1997, he worked with a nonprofit affiliated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for a few years. Here, he acquired a passion for helping and rehabilitating refugees, which he carried into his legal profession.   Finding fruition in being able to help hapless families navigate the complexities of immigration law, Mr. Bartell founded the firm and expanded his practice to assist those who have been accused of criminal charges. While his primary practice is dedicated to deportation defense, asylum and family-based immigration across the U.S., he does not limit himself to just that and handles criminal matters in both state and federal courts throughout the state.   After completing his doctorate in jurisprudence in 2000, Mr. Bartell was admitted to practice in Ohio, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th Circuit. In addition to his reputation in the legal community, Mr. Bartell is on the Executive Committee and serving as Secretary for the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has also been rated “Very Good” on Avvo.   Mr. Bartell’s proficiency in Thai and Laotian has helped him connect to his immigration clients on a personal level, enabling him to understand their issues better. His unique interest and experience allow him to handle complex cases that involve immigration and criminal law with proficiency.
