Lauren Georgalas

Immigration attorney Lauren Georgalas is a co-founder of Bartell, Georgalas & Juarez, L.P.A. Co., serving clients in Ohio. Ms. Georgalas's legal services span the Cleveland metro and across the United States, with her base of operations situated in the firm’s Independence office; an additional branch of the firm is located in Oxford. 

Ms. Georgalas's primary aspiration is to facilitate pathways for immigrants to achieve the American dream. Her upbringing in multicultural urban settings has fostered her deep understanding and appreciation for the contributions immigrants make to cities. She was first admitted to practice law in Colorado in 2017 and then in Ohio in 2021. Ms. Georgalas embarked on the endeavor of creating her own firm after gaining experience in a prominent law firm in downtown Cleveland.

In her pursuit of education, Ms. Georgalas earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2016. Her time at law school was marked by engagement with immigration nonprofits in both Miami and Washington, D.C., reflecting her steadfast dedication to an immigration-focused career. Her academic involvement included participation in Miami Law Women, the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and the Books & Buddies program. Prior to law school, she completed her Bachelor of Arts at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, with a major in communications.

Ms. Georgalas has actively engaged in pro-bono activities, such as her role as a tutor at the Overtown Youth Center and as a law clerk at Catholic Charities. Her dedication to her field has earned her several honors, including the HOPE Summer Public Interest Scholarship for her nonprofit work in immigration, as well as the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in 2016. Also active in her legal community, she joined the Akron Bar Association in 2023.
