Other Outstanding Achievements:

  • Identified and challenged a common practice utilized by the plaintiff’s bar. This practice used a loop-hole in the Ohio Civil Rules allowing for a one year delay in serving a summons on a filed lawsuit, allowing plaintiffs’ counsel a full year to work up their case without the defendant knowing a suit had been filed. This practice resulted in an unfair advantage to all potential defendants in the state of Ohio, but had previously been overlooked or acquiesced to for decades by the Defense Bar. Successfully persuaded the Ohio Supreme Court to review the issue on discretionary appeal resulting in a positive change in Ohio law eliminating the practice and restoring fairness to all Ohio defendants.
