Nicholas E. Phillips

Nicholas E. Phillips, a nationally celebrated courtroom maestro, leads the charge at Phillips & Mille Co., L.P.A., nestled in the heart of Middleburg Heights, Ohio. With prestigious certifications from the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Ohio Supreme Court, he channels his formidable legal prowess into navigating the intricate realms of medical mishaps, product fiascos, personal injuries, vehicular collisions, cases of untimely demise and harm to the young and vulnerable. 

Mr. Phillips also passionately advocates for victims of crimes, tackles industrial injury cases and wades through the labyrinth of commercial and corporate disputes, contract quandaries, construction claims, and the complexities of administrative agency wrangles. His practice thrives on confronting and overcoming adversarial challenges that call for a strategic and fearless approach.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Phillips is a licensed pilot, offering his clients unique insights into aviation-related legal matters. He assists with aircraft transactions and navigates FAA enforcement and medical issues, leveraging his experience as an FAA-licensed pilot to represent pilots and aircraft owners effectively.

An academic scholar, Mr. Phillips' educational journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Kent State University in 1970, followed by a Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law in 1973. His legal career is marked by extensive experience in both civil and criminal jury trials. Admitted to practice in Ohio and Hawaii, he is also authorized to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. Federal Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court since 1980.

Mr. Phillips’ professional contributions include serving on the Ohio Board of Bar Examiners from 2011 to 2016, where he played a key role in shaping the Ohio Bar Examination. A sought-after speaker, he frequently presents at continuing legal education seminars, sharing his knowledge with both local and national audiences.

Deeply committed to his community, Mr. Phillips is the founding director of the North Royalton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and chairs the Cuyahoga County Citizen’s Corps Council. Since 2008, he has hosted "The Advocate," a radio program on WHK 1420 AM in Cleveland. His community service extends to active participation in the North Royalton Lions Club and the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the North Royalton Board of Education from 1984 to 1995 and as the North Royalton Law Director from 1996 to 1997.

Mr. Phillips' dedication to youth and community justice is evident in his founding of the North Royalton Community Diversion Program, where he volunteered as a magistrate from 1998 to 2007. A retired Air Force Colonel, he was the Senior IMA Judge Advocate at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command in Georgia, underscoring his lifelong commitment to service and leadership.
