Michael E. Bloom

Michael Bloom, the founder and managing attorney at Bloom Disability Law, LLC in Warren, Ohio, is dedicated to advocating for individuals with disabilities. His practice focuses exclusively on social security disability law. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Ohio and Pennsylvania and is licensed to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. In 2013, he became an accredited attorney by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He has also presented cases before Ohio's District Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

An academic scholar, Mr. Bloom graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and earned his law degree from The University of Akron School of Law, finishing second in his class. During his time in law school, he was the assistant editor of the Akron Law Review from 2007 to 2008 and gained valuable experience as a judicial extern for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He also authored an award-winning law review article titled "Asperger's Disorder, High-Functioning Autism and Guardianship in Ohio," published in the Akron Law Review in 2009.

A former Hospital Corpsman (Fleet Marine Force) in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Bloom continues to serve as a Judge Advocate officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is actively involved in his community, participating in the zoning commission and board of zoning appeals in Champion Township, Ohio, and serving on advisory committees for Valley Counseling Services and Coleman Professional Services.

With a passion for sharing his extensive legal proficiency, Mr. Bloom has delivered talks on social security disability topics for the National Business Institute and at a Kent State University continuing legal education seminar. He is a member of the Trumbull County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.

Before establishing his own firm, Mr. Bloom served as a staff attorney for the Social Security Administration, where he reviewed thousands of cases and received several accolades, including the SSA Commendable Service Award and the SSA Recognition of Contribution Award. Motivated by his commitment to support those with disabilities, he launched his law practice to serve clients across Ohio and Pennsylvania.
