David Bernstein has been a champion for injured Oklahomans for over four decades. As the founding attorney of Bernstein Law Firm in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he began practicing law in 1983 and has since personally represented more than 1,000 clients who suffered harm from negligence, catastrophic accidents or unfair insurance practices. His extensive practice spans insurance bad faith, personal injury claims and motor vehicle collisions, ranging from car and motorcycle accidents to complex tractor-trailer wrecks, as well as life-altering injuries caused by defective medical devices and pharmaceutical products.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bernstein has secured a remarkable record of success, obtaining numerous six-figure and seven-figure awards on behalf of his clients. His notable accomplishments include a jury verdict exceeding $9 million and membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an honor reserved for attorneys who have achieved judgments or settlements exceeding $1 million.
Mr. Bernstein is admitted to practice in all state, county and municipal courts of Oklahoma, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. He also appears in tribal courts for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma and the Chickasaw Nation. He maintains active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association (OBA) and the Cleveland County Bar Association, and holds affiliations with the American Association for Justice, the Oklahoma Association for Justice and the Litigation Counsel of America, among others.
A dedicated educator, Mr. Bernstein has delivered seminars for more than 20 years under the auspices of the OBA, The University of Oklahoma College of Law, the National Business Institute and the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association. His presentations cover a wide array of topics, including trucking collisions, insurance law, bad faith litigation, wrongful death advocacy, and evidence and trial techniques for soft tissue cases.
Born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma, Mr. Bernstein earned his J.D. from The University of Oklahoma College of Law. Deeply committed to community service, he co-founded Lawyers Fighting Hunger, a 501(c)(3) charity that provides meals and holiday turkeys to families in need. Each year, he contributes resources and organizes an annual event that distributes hundreds of turkeys, meals and refreshments free of charge, underscoring his enduring dedication to justice both inside and outside the courtroom.
