Stacey D. Spivey

Stacey D. Spivey's practice focuses on estate planning and trust and estate administration and litigation.  Ms. Spivey works with individuals to prepare and implement their estate plans to meet family, tax and other goals. She also works with individuals and fiduciaries on the management and settlement of trusts and estates, including probate and trust administration and preparation of estate and gift tax returns.  Ms. Spivey represents individuals and fiduciaries in estate and gift tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service and Oklahoma Tax Commission. Ms. Spivey also has experience in guardianship, charitable planning, and business entity matters, including succession planning. 

Ms. Spivey is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the fields of (i) Trusts and Estates, (ii) Litigation -- Trusts and Estates, and (iii) Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law.  She was named by The Best Lawyers in America as the (i) 2013 Oklahoma City Lawyer of the Year in Litigation -- Trusts and Estates, (ii) 2015 Oklahoma City Lawyer of the Year -- Trusts and Estates, (iii) 2016 Oklahoma City Lawyer of the Year -- Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law; and (iv) 2017 Oklahoma City Lawyer of the Year -- Trusts and Estates.  She is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and served as the 2007 Chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Section, and has previously served in other Section officer positions.  Ms. Spivey frequently writes and speaks on ethics, estate planning and trust and estate administration topics.

Ms. Spivey graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law with highest honors (first in her class academically) and is a member of Order of the Coif.  She served as a legal research and writing teaching assistant while attending the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and was named by the Oklahoma Bar Association as the 1997 Outstanding University of Oklahoma College of Law Senior Law Student.
